Attention: Hiring Manager,
Thank you for taking the time to consider my resume. Until recenty I worked as a mechanical designer at
AMEC in Vancouver, using SolidWorks on a daily basis to design 3D models of conveyors, apron feeders,
head and tail assemblies, as well as numerous client specific parts. Regretably, AMEC experienced layoffs in
June 2013 and I was let go due to the shortage of work in the Mining Industry.
I started at AMEC in September 2012 to do my practicum fresh out of college and acquired a permanent
position in February 2013. For the last 9 months I have learned incredible amounts of information about
underground mining. I currently have a certificate in mining and minerals from Edumine. AMEC has helped me
grow and understand the mining industry and my capabilities as a designer. I have a complex understanding of
how a consulting engineering firm operates. I'm a fast learner and I'm very efficient. I am currently expanding
my SolidWorks knowledge through Hawk Ridge Systems and getting my certification as a Certified SolidWorks
Associate.
I am seeking permanent, fulltime employment in a similar environment where I can contribute as a strong
and valued member of the team. I am available for interview at anytime.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Dom
