Functional Description of our project:

In this paper, tracking of buses and attendance maintenance using GSM technology

has been discussed. The college bus arrival will be intimated to the students through SMS and

the attendance will be maintained through Finger print sensor. The main aim of this project is

to intimate the college students and make them to alert. This helps them to get the bus instead

of missing it. Attendance also recorded in the bus itself. The student has to enroll the finger

print while entering the bus and they have to again enroll it while getting down. Both the

entry and exit time are intimated to the Server, which is present in college campus. They

maintain as a attendance record. We use GSM modems both in college and in the bus. The

database of the students coming in the particular bus has to be stored and SMS have to be

sent to them indicating the stopping of the bus. This system is very much cheap, easily

implementable on large scale and very much suitable for colleges.
