Work Experience

firm from July 2012 onwards.

refinery, as Production engineer from 27.07.2009 to 02.07.2012
Work Summary
We extract Boswellia, Garcinia, Green Coffee, Green Tea, Gymnema,
Herbal, Phyllanthus Pterocarpus etc by using suitable solvents.
As a Manager to prepare timely production plan, ensure the working
process as per order requisite. Ensure the products as per product
specifications etc and to maintain stock details in SAP.
As a Production Engineer and in charge of the whole plant I have to
supervise the whole refining processes. Degumming of crude palm oil by
using phosphoric acid and bleaching the oil under high vacuum are the main
section of this refinery. As this is a physical refinery we do not use
chemical separation or washing. By using fuller's earth (absorption method)
the oil is purified and this fuller's earth in the oil is removed by
passing it through a vertical leaf filter. As the moisture content may
cause instability whole process are done under high vacuum. The
Distillation section or the Deodorizer section is yet another important
section of this refinery where the byproduct Free Fatty Acid is separated
from the refined oil using high temperature. The Free Fatty Acid (FFA)
vaporizes at 230 degrees and passed to a scrubber where it gets accumulated
and finally passed to the storage tanks. Saturated steam pressure, Open
steam pressure, Vacuum etc plays a vital role in a refinery as it
influences the FFA content in refined oil, colour, Peroxide value etc.
Moisture content in the oil makes the refining process unstable. So these
parameters are vital and need high attention during the process.

> Inplant training in Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited,
Ambalamugal, Kochi, in Production Department for a period of 15
days which includes production of Phenol, Acetone & Hydrogen
peroxide from Liquefied Petroleum Gas by means of propylene
recovery, oxidation, Evaporation, Cleaving, Extraction,
fractionation, Hydrogenation etc in the year 2008.

In Plant Training
> Inplant training in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited,
Coimbatore LPG bottling plant. Detailed study of Pressure testing,
Leakage Testing etc for a period of 10 days in the year 2004.
