As a team member for fire and emergency services, we respond to alarms, combat fire and hazardous situations
requiring the full performance of firefighting duties, including rescue, involving structures, equipment,
facilities, aircraft, vehicles, chemicals, fuel storage, ammunition storage and brush fires. As a Hazardous
Materials Technician, We collect/interpret data, determine damage to container and assets, and develop strategy
and tactics. We utilize hazard and risk assessment techniques to form an incident analysis by surveying the
areas, materials, containers, weather, and monitoring equipment. Performs duties as it relates to the Fire Alarm
Communication Center (FACC). Completed the required 40 hr. training, as directed to perform on an infrequent
basis all duties assigned to the FACC to include but not limited to Administrative, Emergency and Non-
emergency, and Work order functions. Performs crash-rescue and firefighting duties involving air traffic or
support operations where hazardous conditions are such that the expectancy for fire is high and potential for
becoming destructive is great. Performs structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities, which may
include large multistoried buildings, industrial areas, and/or base storage facilities. Performs structural
firefighting duties at facilities which may be engaged in the production, storage, and testing of fuels, explosives,
gases, or other chemicals and materials which are capable of producing extensive and hazardous toxicological,
biological, or radiological products. Perform inspections and maintenance of fire alarm panels, pumps,
inspection valves, FDC, sprinkler systems and heads, pull stations, audible and visual alarms hydrants flow
testing, portable extinguishers fire detection systems, Monoco Fire Alarm Systems, maintain electronic records,
water distribution systems, standpipes, vertical and horizontal split-case pumps, pump controllers, pump test
manifolds, check valves, risers, Deluge systems, Inspect natural gas valves, pipes, emergency shut off, oil
storage and hazardous materials inspections, following NFPA 30, 31 54,56, 58 77 704 OSHA SIC 1300, API
RP 54, API RP 4G, API 9B, ANSI standards, ASME boiler pressure vessel code. Trained on rig-ip procedures,
blow out prevention equipment, HAZMAT Tech for hydrogen sulfide environment, confined space trained,
HAZMAT Tech in use of 4 gas meters and other measuring tools for confined space. Machinery and tool safety,
lockout/tagout training, hot work burn permits for cut/weld and firewatch, chemical storage, ladder safety
training, unloading and loading of hazardous materials, pressure relief valves, generators, motors and lighting
training, internal combustion engines, energized power line training, adequate ventilation, dill, cutting,
pneumatic tools, rams, extension tools, prying tools, use of PPE and SCBA respirator trained, Level A,B,C
training. Basic math for hydraulics, area surfaces, volume measurements, climb ladders up to 110ft, while
wearing 80lbs of fire gear. Use Microsoft office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications.
