Leadership – Led private school through the development, implementation and management of a merit based
compensation plan focused on faculty achievement and commitment to the objectives outlined in the strategic
plan. Revised initial plan to capitalize on the strengths of the original plan, improve the more challenging aspects
of the plan and identify a more effective means of attracting and retaining the best and brightest faculty. Worked
closely with the Leadership Team to develop a performance management plan that focus recognized individual
strengths yet addressed areas of concern using an approach that was in accordance with the school mission.
Recruiting, Talent Acquisition and Selective Retention – Developed a recruiting process focused
primarily on the assessment of qualities desired within the organization rather than a review of
candidate qualifications related to individual positions. The process is collaborative in nature,
including both hiring and employment managers as well as colleagues and (in some cases) students.
In addition, specific mentoring programs were developed for both the elementary and middle and high
school programs that focused on teacher induction over the course of two years. The new process
resulted in reducing turnover by 35% in a five year period.
Team Building – Built nationwide team of highly skilled project consultants from three to twenty eight
professionals in an eighteen month period and sustained the lowest turnover rate in the company when
compared to over twenty five local offices. Planned semi annual practice conferences which focused on
professional development, industry best practices and team building activities.
Training & Professional Development – Directed the decentralization of faculty management from a principal
managed to a department chair supervised model. Coached and trained department chairs in the performance
management of faculty within their department as well as best practices in the recruiting and hiring of new faculty
members.

Independent Human Resource Consultant (10/09 – present)
Performed a range of human resource functions for various non profit and academic institutions including market
salary and benefit analysis, employee handbook and employment practices review, supervisor training related to
selective employee retention and recruiting, and general HR compliance (COBRA, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School – Human Resource Manager (01/03 – 06/13)
Project managed the implementation of a school wide information system that encompassed the admissions,
registrar, business office and advancement office functions. Directed the software selection process with the
involvement of representatives from all departments, coordinated the conversion efforts for each area, and managed
training efforts within each division. The conversion to one system, from five different systems, resulted in the
automation of several communication efforts, improved the efficiency of enrollment management and changes, and
enhanced grade reporting capabilities for all levels.
Coordinate the daily administration of human resource services including but not limited to recruitment and
selection, promotions, transfers, employment (faculty) contract administration, job classification, performance
evaluation and employee relations in accordance with overall organizational objectives.
Manage the staffing and hiring process. Work with division leaders to recruit, select and retain high caliber
employees whose skills, experience and values are aligned with the mission of the School. Plan, direct and
supervise activities relating recruitment including advertising, hiring fairs, interview activities, candidate
evaluation and testing.
Plan, direct and supervise activities relating to the administration and maintenance of compensation
programs. Develop, implement and control programs in a manner that ensures cost effectiveness, market
competitiveness and internal equity among employees.
Provide consultation to managers and supervisors on performance management issues and other human
resource matters ensuring legal compliance with management practices; participate in the investigation and
resolution of ongoing employee relations concerns, anticipate problems where possible and develop,
recommend and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
Ensure appropriate measures were taken as related to employee management practices and provide
consultation on human resource matters and legal compliance
Responsible for the strategy, research, design, communication and overall management of the School’s
benefit programs including group health, dental, life and disability, flexible spending and retirement plans

Developed a new hire orientation program adopted by the corporate office for all employees nationwide. The
program covered not only the review of benefit programs and payroll information, but specifically focused on the
history of the company, the nature of the corporate culture, the company’s approach to client service and professional
development expectations.
Manage all aspects of nationwide recruitment function for national practice that specialized in system
conversion, implementation and process efficiency review from advertising to interviewing to orientation

Managed payroll system conversion that reduced the processing time of a bi weekly payroll by 40% and resulted in a
15% decrease in payroll processing costs. Conversion focused on the automation of time card processing and
benefit reporting.

Universal Printing Company – Payroll & Benefits Administrator (04/94 – 12/96)
Migrated company’s payroll and benefit processing to an automated solution that included software selection and the
development of a customized program for a highly involved calculation of hourly pay based on the individual print job
and shift differentials. The conversion also automated all reporting requirements to three separate union
organizations. Implemented a light duty program as a means of reducing workers’ compensation experience rating
resulting in an overall 50% reduction in the NCCI modification rate
Process weekly payroll for 300 union employees in ensuring strict compliance of the appropriate labor
organization collective bargaining agreement; processing also included biweekly payroll for 50 non-union
employees
Responsible for the administration of all non-union employee benefits and provided data to three separate
labor organization for union employee benefit administration
Manage all facets of workers’ compensation benefit from prevention of incidents to reporting to claim
management and fraud investigation
