Work Experience:
2012 - 2013 Carrier Corporation, Electrical Engineer Co-Op, Part of new product development
team focused on launching a new commercial air conditioning unit. Responsibilities
included:
•Software Validation:
a. Updated/Modified HVAC Large Rooftop (LRT) Controls Simulator, to test
software for use in upcoming and existing commercial LRT HVAC products.
b. Developed standardized controls software I/O test, for validating software that
will be used in various commercial air conditioning products.
c. Loaded new code onto lab test units for validation in actual product in the
laboratory.
•Electric Heat Testing:
a. Assisted senior electrical engineer and technicians with electric heat testing
based on UL 1995 Safety Standard.
b. Reviewed raw data from laboratory testing and reduced/summarized the results
in a standard format that simplified the data analysis process.
•Reliability Testing:
a. Worked with the senior electrical engineer to formulate and test methods that
would help determine root cause of pressure transducer field failures.
b. Performed cycle tests on samples to try to repeat field failures in lab. .
c. Set up thermal cycle test of new electrical connector to determine if connection
would degrade in the product over time.
d. Designed and built control system and test hardware for cycle testing new
outdoor fans and air dampers to be used in upcoming LRT product line.
e. Followed up on life cycle testing until completion.
•Purchase Part Specifications:
a. Worked with outside vendors to set up new purchase part specifications for
components to be used in a new HVAC large rooftop product series.
