Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
I’m writing this letter because of my interest in your corporation and the opening that you have
for a Manufacturing Engineer. My background is in the manufacturing field and I believe that I
could be of use to your organization. Below is a short history of who I am and what I have
accomplished in my work career.
Presently, I’m a 2012 graduate from East Carolina University, having completed my Bachelor of
Science in Industrial Technology, with a Minor in Industrial Management. At East Carolina I
studied and applied course work, such as statistics for business and economics, quality systems,
operations management, technical writing, industrial supervision, advanced manufacturing, cost
and capital project analysis, project management, microeconomics, etc. I also graduated from
Northeastern Technical College, with an Associate of Science in Industrial Technology in
Machine Tool. There I covered all aspects of machining including tool and die theory, cnc
programming, jigs and fixture design and application, drafting, algebra-trigonometry, and
physics.
I have 19 years of experience in the manufacturing field, and started my work career as a
Dynamometer Technician for Research and Development, and basically assisted engineering in
statistical test and analysis. I then progressed into machining and became lead Machinist/Mold
Maker, assisting in the development and building of compression molds for the rail industry.
Presently, I have dedicated time in learning the aspects of production supervision and operations
management. I now assist in leading a team of 30+production employees, when needed. In
conclusion, I believe that my educational and work experiences have prepared me for a career in
any organization.
My resume, which is enclosed, contains additional information on my experience and skills. I
would appreciate the opportunity to discuss employment within your corporation at your
convince. I can be reach at 910-***-****. I look forward to speaking with you about joining
your team.
