WORK EXPERIENCE
Supervisor
First Transit - Statesboro, GA - November 2012 to May 2013
Responsibilities
My responsibilities were the following, constant radio communications with all my drivers, knowledge of A.D.A.
guideline regulations in the transport of a disabled person.Keep a daily vehicle log, a service revenue report,a
spot check report on all buses, implement all company rules and regulations, ride around in a supervisor vehicle
and make myself visible to all drivers just in case a problem should arise, handle any passenger complaint or
problem in a safe.and professional manner.Making sure all drivers do a D.V.I.R. on all the buses they operate.
Driver scheduling for the week, control all labor hours to the minimum without cutting back on service.Doing
all paper work needed to close out the night shift.
Accomplishments
Besides of the fact that we transported more 20,000 students in The Georgia Southern University Campus,I
always did my job, without a reprimand of any kind from my general manager,on the contrary most of the time
my general manager would tell me what a great job I was doing.
Supervisor
First Transit - Coral Gables, FL - October 2007 to August 2012
Responsibilities
I made sure all trolley style buses were ready to go for the morning shift, clean and in working conditions prior
to ending my shift.I made sure drivers were available for the morning shift so that my morning supervisor would
have his shift covered.I would keep a vehicle down log, this was to know which vehicle was not operable.I
would do a drivers schedule for the week, and have drivers that were off on standby mode in case one should
call off.I would check all passenger count sheets to make sure all passengers were added right.I would make
sure all drivers did a D.V.I.R on every trolley bus they used.I had constant radio communication with all my
drivers to make sure they were on schedule due to traffic or any other circumstances such as an accident
or any other problem which might cause them to run late into The Metro Rail Station, and if they did I would
help them get on schedule by diverting them out of the route and putting them back on time.I used to ride
around in a supervisor vehicle checking arrivals at The Rail Station and making sure everything was alright.I
had knowledge of A,D,A. rules and regulations in the proper transporting of disabled persons, and so did my
drivers.I would do the closing paper work for the night shift..
Accomplishments
In The City of Coral Gables even though we only traveled 4 miles one way and 4 miles back,it was usually very
congested during peak morning and evening hours, and some of the roads were very narrow, therefore people
would open their vehicle doors to oncoming traffic, some times are drivers had no time to avoid a collision with
an open door.I would tell my drivers to try to stay on these narrow roads as close as they could to the middle
yellow line divider, when traffic permitted and as long as they did not encroach on any other vehicle. This would
give enough space so a person can open a parked vehicle door and the space would not matter the door would
not preclude the driver from hitting it.This was one of my accomplishments, we started having less collisions,I
started having driver awareness meetings and this helped a lot.I feel this made a great impact at my job.
Skills Used
The skills I used was my defensive driving skills, these skills I passed on to my drivers.
Team Driver
Werner Enterprise - Lakeland, FL - September 2006 to October 2007
Responsibilities
I was a team driver for Werner Enterprise, which meant that I would drive with another driver over the road,to
different states delivering and picking up freight. We would constantly be rolling when I slept the other driver
would drive and the same for me.We were both responsible for doing a pre and post trip inspection of the
tractor trailer. We had a Qualcom system on board which we would have to input our Driver Log.We also had
to put in our berth time(sleep time) the time we were not behind the wheel. We had a G.P.S. system that would
show us where our weight stations were that way we knew not to pass them, and also where the streets were
in each town we stopped to drop off or pick up freight.
Accomplishments
My accomplishment was also my goal always arrive back home safe,in order for this to happen I had to depend
on my driving skills and I had to confide in the driving skills of my partner.
Skills Used
My skills were the ones I obtained through out my driving career. If it was not for the training and defensive
driving courses I took I could not have acquired all my skills.
