Title: Enhancing Data Security through Structural Modification & Modified Key Generation in IDEA.
Technology: Cryptography & Network Security.
Description: Data security is an important issue in today’s computer networks. This project
presents a new approach for the process of generating subkeys which uses a part of Key
generation algorithm used in AES and also presents the structural modification of IDEA block to
get better improvements over existing one. IDEA encrypts 64-bit plaintext to produce 64-bit
ciphertext uses 128-bit length key to generate 52 subkeys may compromise the security of the
algorithm but this modified approach uses 256-bit length key to generate 52 subkeys for
enhancing data security. Result analysis illustrates the strength of Modified Key Generation and
structural modification in IDEA is more secure than existing one.
