1978-1994-Arch of IL-Captain Mine
Reclamation/Pit Foreman- Planning and overseeing scraper and dozer fleet. Responsible
for drilling, stripping and loading operations of a large surface mine.
Second Shift Reclamation Superintendent- Managing over all reclamation of a large
surface mine. Overseeing 752 dragline pit, coal loading, haulage and truck shovel
operations.
Third Shift Reclamation Foreman- Responsible for all facets concerning truck shovel
operations, scraper fleet and haulage roads.
Beltline Master Mechanic- Responsible for all activities of maintenance of electrical,
mechanical and hydraulic systems on belt conveyers.
Beltline Foreman– Overseeing production and operation of belt systems.** During this
time new records were set.
Relief Foreman- Responsible for belt systems for foreman in their absence.
Foreman Trainee- Learn a foreman’s responsibilities in stripping, drilling and shooting.
Preparation plant and maintenance. Electrical department- trouble shooting electrical
distribution systems, 2570 dragline, 6360 shovel the WORLD’S LARGEST SHOVEL
and all other electrical equipment.
1982-1983-Cora Coal Transfer-IL
Electrician, Mechanic, Operator- Repair all electrical and hydraulic systems. Operate
dozers, graders, cherry pickers, boom trucks, rotary car dump, stacker-reclaimer, barge
load out, locomotive engineer, end dump and scraper. Electrical repairs and records of
permissible equipment. This Load-Out facility was rated as the most “advanced” in 1982.

Electrician, Maintenance Mechanic- Fabricated and repaired electrical systems and
maintain all permissible equipment.
Apprentice Maintenance Mechanic- Operated metal lathes and milling machines.Repair
all battery operated equipment in a permissible environment..
