Graduation Project: The main focus was addressing the environmental issues caused by solid wastes.

Plastics are major waste generators around the world including Jordan. My efforts concentrated on

recycling a well known type of thermoplastics; PMMA (poly methyl methacrylate) using optimized

chemical approaches. These efforts consisted of two main parts: First, decomposing the solid waste

(polymer) into its monomer (MMA) using simple distillation. The second part was converting the

monomer to the original polymer using free radical bulk polymerization.
