Title : AUTOMATIC VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION BY PLATE RECOGNITION

Brief Description :Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) has many

applications in traffic systems (highway electronic toll collection, border

and customs checkpoints, etc.). In this study, a smart and simple algorithm

is presented for vehicle's license plate recognition system. The proposed

algorithm consists of three major parts: Extraction of plate region,

segmentation of characters and recognition of plate characters. The

performance of the proposed algorithm has been tested on real images

The goal of Optical Character Recognition

(OCR) is to classify optical pattern.(often contained in a digital image)

corresponding to alphanumeric or other characters. Today's OCR engines add

the multiple algorithms of neural network technology to analyze the stroke

edge, the line of discontinuity between the text characters, and the

background.
