Lab Experience/Techniques
Transgenic Yeast/Bacterial Lab SFSU Oct 2012 May 2013
Research Assistant Oversaw and made transgenic yeast. Designed plasmids for gene
deletions/insertions into yeast cells and performed confirmation tests for plasmid uptake. Ran
PCR. Worked with Ethanol Precipitation for DNA concentration and Lithium Acetate Kits for plasmid
transformation. Ran agarose gels and Western/Northern blots. Made simple/complex media for cell
growth. Grew/maintained bacterial and transgenic yeast cell lines using replica plating.
Biological Cell Lab SFSU Jan 2012 June 2012
TA/RA Prepared and ran Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, ImmunoBlot,
Gel/Column electrophoresis, Western/Northern/Southern Blots, Flow cytometry, DAPI cell staining,
Microarray, SDS PAGE, ELISA, Mass Spectrometry
Animal/DNA Lab UCSC Sept 2010 June 2011
TA Tissue from an unknown donor organisms were analyzed, DNA was extracted and
compared to known DNA sequences to determine true origin of tissue. DNA extraction/isolation,
Gel electrophoresis, PCR, Vector insertion, DNA Antibody tagging, DNA Hybridization,
Northern/Southern blot, cDNA synthesis, BLAST
Skills
Works well with others as well as independently, great reading, writing, communication,
customer service and organization skills, very motivated and work oriented. Follows Standard
Operating Protocols to the dot, very detail oriented, quick learner, complex problem solver and very
analytical. Can speak mandarin, shanghainese dialect, excel, word, photoshop, powerpoint
