Professional Experience
AUGUST 2007 - PRESENT LOGOS TECHNOLOGIES INC
Image Processing Software/Systems Engineer
Designed low power GPU accelerated server based system to provide
image stabilization and full scene tracking for a Wide Area
Persistent Surveillance System onboard a small aircraft. Acted as
technical lead in Agile development cycle. Wrote code in C++ to
capture imagery from 10GbE and archive to SSDs for a system that
tested capable of sustaining write speeds of 2800 MB/s.
Servers on aircraft ran Linux and ground based clients were Windows.
Led team of 5 engineers in charge of getting a large imaging system
qualified for deployment on Shadow unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
Directed team using Agile methodologies in writing software to
verify hardware systems functionality, providing real time feedback.
Led team in designing and executing test plans to verify hardware
design and to meet the military standard acceptance testing
procedures. Payload included custom hardware and software systems
providing integrated storage and real time streaming video with
command and control executed over a web interface. Processing
components included FPGAs, DSPs and X86 processors running embedded
Linux.
Led project design of a massively parallel processing array based
(Tilera many RISC core processor) microTCA embedded system prototype
to prove the capability to deliver wide area persistence
surveillance from a small UAV. Specified system architecture and
managed subcontractor providing custom hardware. Wrote software in
Tilera's custom embedded Linux kernel in C++ to capture sensor data
on 10GbE interface and made available for other processes to exploit
the data, providing content to web based windows clients. Forwarded
data to X86 processing board running embedded Linux and archived to
SSDs. Made tools to visualize data on Linux desktops using C++ and
OpenGL.
Acted as test director, providing onsite support and troubleshooting
at multiple product demonstrations.
Implemented ability to encode and export videos from airborne
surveillance viewer (C++ on Windows Server operated on aircraft with
Windows client running in Java on ground)
Designed and coded geo-registration and compression of images in
forensic persistent surveillance viewer (C++ wrapped in JNI for Java
application on Windows)
April 2005 - August 2007 SportsMedia Technology Corporation
Production Engineer
Led teams of up to 5 engineers onsite at remote events to facilitate
smooth transitions with new customers or new products
Conceived, designed and developed hardware and software for Sports
Times Ohio (STO) pitch tracker system used on Indians Baseball
Broadcasts. (C++)
Provided onsite support for over 75 events including the Super Bowl,
Monday Night Football on ABC, Sunday Night Football on NBC, Peach
Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Stanley Cup Final
Led design of NBC Sunday Night Football's 1st and 10 system
architecture
Influential in design and coding of NBC's Big Picture and
SportsMedia Telestrator (C++ )
Wrote Keyable applications and Scoreboard Data Parsers including for
the NHL, NCAA tournament and NFL (C++ ActiveX controls with VB
interface)
January 2005 - April 2005 Southern States Nissan
Sale Associate
August 2003 - January 2005 Cardio Vascular Fluid Dynamics Lab at
Georgia Tech
Research Assistant for Dr. Yoganathan
Wrote and used Matlab scripts to segment MRI sets of post-operative
Fontan patients creating 3D anatomical reconstructions and regularly
meeting with radiologists and cardiologists to discuss findings.
April - August 2003 North Carolina Department of
Environment
& May - August 2001 and Natural Resources
Assistant LAN Administrator
Managed a network of 30+ computers, 3 printers and 2 web servers
Ported cold fusion code to ASP.NET for interactive database (2003)
Designed and built password protected survey site using SQL (2001)
