Detail Design Project-Sample Return Robotics Completion
Fall
2012-Present
Designed an autonomous robot capable of traversing in off-road
conditions while searching for and, subsequently, acquiring various
object.
Lead designer for the locomotion subsystem. Wrote SLAM code to
interface the stereoscopic machine vision, path planning algorithms,
and various other sensors used for robot autonomy.
NASA Space Grant-Quadrocopter
Summer 2012-Present
Researched energy-based optimized path planning using Pontryagin's
minimum principle.
Designed and implemented new governing control law algorithm.
Solids-Fastener Testing in a Single Lap
Summer 2011
Evaluate shear in bolts of various materials and heat treatments via
tensile testing.
Fabricated and machined lap splices as well as programmed the Matlab
code to simulate testing.
Robotics-Simulate Robotic Arm Movement
Spring 2011
Wrote a Matlab program to compute the parameters for a quintic
polynomial, simulate an elbow manipulator arm configuration,
compute/simulate the velocity kinematics for the end-effector, and
use a resolved motion rate controller to generate a linear path for a
planar RR end-effector.
Responsible for all project programming and simulation.
Controls-Controller Design for a Robotic Arm
Spring 2011
Modeled the transfer function of DC servos in Matlab.
Designed a controller using resistors, capacitors, and inductors to be
used in tandem with designed transfer function. Responsible for all
project design, implementation, and simulation.
CAD-Redesign Gulfstream G5 with Wind Tunnel Testing
Fall 2010
Used Catia to redesign the G5 for long range, high endurance mission
capability based on aerodynamic calculations.
Used 3-D printer to 'print' designed parts for assembly.
Performed wind tunnel testing to evaluate change performance.
Manually designed and fabricated all parts of the CATIA model .
