Detail Design Project-Sample Return Robotics Completion

Designed an autonomous robot capable of traversing in off-road

conditions while searching for and, subsequently, acquiring various

object.

Lead designer for the locomotion subsystem. Wrote SLAM code to

interface the stereoscopic machine vision, path planning algorithms,

and various other sensors used for robot autonomy.

NASA Space Grant-Quadrocopter

Summer 2012-Present

Researched energy-based optimized path planning using Pontryagin's

minimum principle.

Designed and implemented new governing control law algorithm.

Solids-Fastener Testing in a Single Lap

Summer 2011

Evaluate shear in bolts of various materials and heat treatments via

tensile testing.

Fabricated and machined lap splices as well as programmed the Matlab

code to simulate testing.

Robotics-Simulate Robotic Arm Movement

Spring 2011

Wrote a Matlab program to compute the parameters for a quintic

polynomial, simulate an elbow manipulator arm configuration,

compute/simulate the velocity kinematics for the end-effector, and

use a resolved motion rate controller to generate a linear path for a

planar RR end-effector.

Responsible for all project programming and simulation.

Controls-Controller Design for a Robotic Arm

Spring 2011

Modeled the transfer function of DC servos in Matlab.

Designed a controller using resistors, capacitors, and inductors to be

used in tandem with designed transfer function. Responsible for all

project design, implementation, and simulation.

CAD-Redesign Gulfstream G5 with Wind Tunnel Testing

Fall 2010

Used Catia to redesign the G5 for long range, high endurance mission

capability based on aerodynamic calculations.

Used 3-D printer to 'print' designed parts for assembly.

Performed wind tunnel testing to evaluate change performance.

Manually designed and fabricated all parts of the CATIA model .
