• Gear shift indicator mechanism.
Final Year project:
Design and development of a manually operated waste paper moulding machine
Abstract: This machine makes a combined use of screw press and hydraulic press to develop
sufficient pressure inside the die so that the slurry of waste paper takes the shape of the die. A
binding liquid called Di Octyl Phthalate (DOP) is used to bond different fibres of paper. Firstly,
the hydraulic press is used to elevate the female die to an appropriate height which is then
pressurized by the use of screw press. Then a heating device, which is attached to the machine,
provides ideal temperature so as to bake the slurry properly. The surface of the heating device is
made of galvanized aluminum while at the rim there is a nichrome wire.
