Dear Human Resources,
I am seeking the Business Office Coordinator position you have available. I
believe I possess the organizational skills and background to be a part of your team. I
have worked in multiple management and leadership roles. I obtained bachelors from the
University of Indianapolis with a major in Sport Management.
In June of this year I completed an internship with the Geist Half Marathon. I
worked directly under the Executive Director, and I am experienced to perform with little
intervention. As an Event Coordinator, I was responsible for the day-to-day tasks of
planning a half marathon. This included researching and recording expenses through
QuickBooks, participation registration, sponsorship sales and volunteer recruiting. I feel
this could be relevant to any management position because I executed the basic
management skills that are required to perform such a position. As a manager, I believe in
building relations, exceptional customer service and great communication skills, all of
which I experienced with this internship.
In 2012, I was the head of Special Events for the Special Olympics Indiana
basketball tournament. This was a volunteer based project that I was involved in through
the University of Indianapolis. My contribution as the Special Events Coordinator was to
create and implement the special events that took place during this event. In order to
accomplish my daily tasks, I communicated with the faculty, scheduled meetings, secured
equipment, developed timelines and communicated with the rest of the committee
members.
In addition to this experience, I was the Assistant
Manager at Sony Style in 2006. I was responsible for
opening and closing the store five days a week, leading
the sales associates, and keeping our sales staff up to
date on new products. The most important
responsibility for this position was leading our floor
staff. To be a leader, my goal is to keep everyone
motivated and focused on the job at hand. Next to job
motivation, exceptional customer service is my top
priority as a manager.
I believe I would be a great fit for the Business
Office Coordinator position because my experience has
provided me with the proper management and
preparation skills needed to perform well in this
position. I look forward to talking with you more about
the position. You may reach me 317-***-**** and/or

consideration.
