Career Summary:
28+ years in international shipping focused on inventory management and logistics. With
a local inventory of approximately 1500 units with a worldwide inventory of 6500+, I
successfully maintained the Houston base operation accounting for demand,
maintenance and repair as well utilization. Expanding our operation, I was instrumental in
the start-up of the in house maintenance and repair division, which came to realized a
30% savings in repair expense to both the Line’s equipment and equipment repaired prior
to offhire while increasing the overall quality of repair. Staff included 4-6 employees.
Initiating the intermodal transportation for the company, I created a revenue source
offering customers the option to use the Line to arrange their transportation door to port.

Reviewed invoices for accuracy and payment. Generated invoices to customers for
trucking services as well as per diem. Responsibilities further included the daily
operations on terminal for the steamship line such as company security procedures,
arranging clearance and escort of visitors both onboard vessels and on terminal.

1998 – 2013 Consolidated Steamship Agency – Houston, TX
Manager: Equipment Control / M&R / Intermodal / Logistics:
On-site dock operations in port / industrial environment. Responsibilities include daily container
operations on terminal for Universal Africa Line, management of inventory accuracy, maintenance and
repair, and coordination of motor carrier moves of containers and chassis to and from agency vessels. In-
house maintenance & repair substantially reduces expense to outside vendors. Ensure verification of
import and export documentation against vessel documents. Manage and supervise 4-6 employees,
including the coordination of daily work assignments to ensure the demands of the Line are met. Manage
the inventory and fleet of shipping containers to ensure availability while monitoring overages and/or
shortages. Work directly with the terminal operators to coordinate equipment release, container
inspection, repair and equipment stacking and storage for efficient rotation. Manage pre-trip scheduling,
refrigerated container inspection, export cargo loading and trucking arrangements with outside supply
vendor. Daily inventory management of specialty equipment such as refrigerated containers, flat racks
and open tops, chassis and genset portable power, service trucks, tools, materials and fuel. Review,
code and process payment for all invoices related to vessel operations, M&R, trucking and storage.
Manage the terminal and vessel visitor process, including issuance of ID badges and safety equipment.
Lead orientation of safety procedures and emergency evacuation plan from the terminal. Schedule and
manage the transportation of visitors through the terminal and to/from the vessel via pre-arranged
transportation such as golf carts or passenger vans. Responsible for booking and managing travel for
international visitors.

Operations Manager:
Manage the daily operations of a regional chassis equipment fleet. Oversaw the production and
fabrication of 500+ remanufactured chassis directly from the New Orleans plant. Responsible for
inventory control, maintenance and repair of 3 neutral chassis pools in Houston and New Orleans.
Responsible for third party billing and collections and for the maintenance and repair of equipment to IICL
standards. Ensured budgetary guidelines were met. Built effective working relationships with customer
counterparts to proactively ensure desired service levels were met.

Equipment Control / Intermodal Representative:
Responsible for mini land bridge service between the Port of Los Angeles and Houston for Neptune
Orient Line. Managed rail billing, positioning of chassis, control, dispatch and distribution of intermodal
container equipment. This entailed the positioning of export, import and empty container equipment to
client companies by rail and/or motor carriers. Responsible for timely vendor invoice processing and
billing and collections of third party charges. Interacted with railroads, warehouses, motor carriers and
customers to ensure the timely and cost effective movement of import and export shipments throughout
the region. Geographic locations of responsibility included Houston, New Orleans, Dallas / Ft. Worth,
Memphis and El Paso, as well as Lubbock and Amarillo.

Intermodal Manager:
Responsible for providing inland transportation of container equipment to customer facilities on-time and
within budgeted costs. Provided empty equipment for export shipments, while arranging clearance of
import shipments and collecting import freight charges. Continually reviewed vendor rates and services to
obtain the best available services at the lowest possible costs.

Equipment Control / Billing Clerk:
Responsible for coding, pricing and processing of service vendor invoices as well as third party billing and
collections. Responsible for daily equipment control data input and weekly container equipment inventory
reconciliation.
