I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology with a minor
in Chemistry in 2003. Relevant coursework includes: Genetics, Organic

Toxicology, and Biochemistry. I graduated with a 3.062 GPA and made
the National Dean's List during the 1998-1999 and 1999-2000 school

INTERNSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA MEDICAL CENTER

Section.(July 2003- August 2003). My duties included: growing isolates
of bacteria and extracting DNA, performing PCR, electrophoresis, and
Southern Blots. During this time, I wrote a journal article,
"Occupation of mec insertion Site in TSST-1 Positive Staphylococcus
Aureus Isolates."
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CARGILL CORN MILLING (October 2011 - May 2013)
I started out as a Lab Analyst and progressed to a Chemist. Cargill
is a global manufacturer serving the Food, Feed and Fermentation
segments. The area I worked in provided dextrose for use by another
company for food and pharmaceutical applications. Testing included
ICP, HPLC, GCOAs and Antek for nitrogen.
INSTITUTE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (IEH) (June 2004 - December 2010).
I worked for this company for 6 years. During this time I worked my
way from a Microbiology Technician all the way up to a Quality Control
Manager. The Institute for Environmental Health is a nationwide
environmental consulting firm with a record of responsiveness and
budgetary awareness. Clients include both food and pharmaceutical
industries. The laboratories are ISO 17025 accredited. Below are
brief job descriptions of the positions I held in this organization.
QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER
I was the Quality Assurance Officer of 2 combined ISO 17025 accredited
laboratories. My duties included: performing general administrative
duties, maintaining current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),
filing and managing contracts, performing PCR, issue Certificates of
Analysis (CoAs) to customers; maintaining inventory control, keeping
current calibrations and retaining records for equipment, generate
weekly control charts, and compile multiple monthly banding data
spreadsheets for customers' samples.
MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY DIRECTOR
My responsibilities included generating and obtaining electronic
copies of all CoAs, sample submittal forms and then test results,
managing and leading staff training, maintaining current SOPs,
organizing and filing all documentation for laboratory, perform PCR
and cultural confirmations, issue CoAs to customers, maintain
inventory control, keep current calibrations and retain records for
calibrated equipment, generate weekly control charts, and compile
multiple monthly banding data spreadsheets for customers' samples.
LAB SUPERVISOR
I performed administrative duties, maintained current SOPs, performed
PCR, issued CoAs to customers, maintained inventory control of 2 labs,
maintained weekly control charts and monthly banding data.
MICROBIOLOGY TECHNICIAN
My duties included: setting up food samples for both qualitative and
quantitative tests, testing food samples by PCR and gel
electrophoresis for detection of pathogens, analyzing samples for
specific bacteria using both petrifilm and pour plate methods.

WORK ETHIC
My experience with my previous employers allowed me to develop many
leadership qualities. I am able to take detailed instructions or be
given vague ideas and complete a task successfully. I have learned the
importance of detail and how it can affect how my work is viewed by
other professionals. I work very hard and take great pride in my work
without asking for constant praise. I am reliable and relaxed when in
difficult situations. I maintain an open, upbeat nature, even while
experiencing periods of high stress. I accept responsibility for my

COMMUNICATIONS
Communication between different people with different backgrounds and
education levels both verbal and written comes natural with my
experience with working with the public in a professional environment.

OFFICE EXPERIENCE
I have experience with basic office equipment. I know how to use a fax
machine and have filing experience. I understand office procedures and
etiquette.
COMPUTER PROGRAMS/EQUIPMENT
I am efficient in Microsoft programs that include Word, Excel, Access
and PowerPoint. I also have experience with both Techne and Eppendorf
Thermocyclers, Soxtec Fat Analysis, Kodak Imaging software, and use
and calibration of various GCs. I know how to research topics and find
answers to questions that others or I may have.
