Project Description:

Legal & General is UK based insurance company. The data will be organized

in terms of agents, insurance, assured and location according to

organization's requirements. The system is used for policy formulation,

Claim analysis, product and customer profitability, premium analysis, cost

containment and litigation cost reductions. The console application which

is part of the system does periodic processing apart from regular database

maintenance. Enables the users for studying the market patterns, revenue

estimation and formulate more cost effective and competitive services.

Legal & General Insurance Company is a new organization that needs to

manage operations of two large and distinct insurance groups. The project

was on Greenfield Program Management for building data warehouse for Nation

wide Health Insurance in various subject areas like financial transactions,

claims information and agreements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

> Design the DataStage ETL jobs for the business requirements using ETL

specifications extracting data from heterogeneous source systems,

transform and finally load into the Data Marts.

> Developed DataStage jobs mainly using various stages like Aggregator

Stage, Filter Stage, Sequential File Stage, Dataset, Join Stage, Look

up Stage and Transformer stage.

> Implement SCD type II technique, reviewing developed DataStage jobs

within the team.

> Used DataStage Designer and DataStage Director for creating and

implementing jobs, schedule running the jobs.

> Developed DataStage jobs using Star Schema and followed development

standard into different projects.

> Involved in Low Level Design and developed various jobs and performed

data loads and transformations using different stages of the DataStage

jobs.
