EDUCATION

North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC August 11 - June 13

Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering

Thesis title: “Atomic structure and chemistry of defects in strontium vanadate thin films”.

GPA: 3.92/4.00

Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran September 07 - June 11

(The number one school of Engineering in Iran)

Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Research Assistant, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC August 11- Present

Collaborated with groups at different schools (Penn State), companies (RTI), and departments

(Chemistry) in several projects on complex oxide thin films, solar cells and nanomaterial in a deadline-driven

environment.

Characterized material systems via Scanning/Transmission Electron Microscope (S/TEM), Energy

Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) and Electron Energy-loss Spectroscopy (EELS), analyzed the data and

prepared reports for the collaborators. Learned a wide variety of laboratory equipments and conducted

experiments independently.

Materials Engineer (Intern), Piyawar Industrial Services Co., Iran June 10- March 11

Designed optimized heat treatment cycles for improving material mechanical properties and

microstructure (Al alloys and Stainless Steel).

Characterized (XRD and SEM) and analyzed test data to determine appropriate variables for material

specifications using ASTM standards.

Responsible for quality processing of the processed materials, troubleshooting and customer

demonstrations.
