FOIAXpress is the most comprehensive web-based commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS)

application available for electronically processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and

Privacy Act (PA) requests. As emphasis on government openness and transparency

continues to increase, agencies and institutions are looking to find ways to streamline

FOIA request management and facilitate citizen interaction. FOIAXpress is a one-stop

software that manages the entire lifecycle of a FOIA request from initial request to final

delivery of documents, including request management, correspondence management,

document management, fee/payment management, document review and redaction, and

reporting.

FOIAXpress has the largest installed base of any FOIA management system on the market

with over 180 customers across the United States. It is a powerful tool for automating the

FOIA request process that can save agencies time and money while ensuring compliance

with US Department of Justice (DOJ) requirements. AINS shares the government’s goal of

transparency and accessibility which is why we designed FOIAXpress as a streamlined

solution for providing the public with access to the information they seek.

Responsibilities:

Public Access Link (PAL) is a public-facing web portal that complements AINS FOI Tools

- FOIAXpress - by providing efficient and secure communication between citizens and agencies.

In the United States, PAL Web Portal integrates with FOIAXpress to meet Executive Order

13,392 requirements for improving agency disclosure of information. PAL Web Portal allows the

public to submit and track the status of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act

(PA) requests over the Internet.

Responsibilities:

• Participated in iteration planning session, review the prioritized items in the backlog,

selects and review the stories for the current iteration.

• Designed and developed the Test plan, Test Scripts and test strategies for the

applications and executed them.

• Work closely with business analyst and developers to understand the user requirement

document tracking and reporting system, to track the flow of critical documents and

executive commitments, gather statistical data, and distribute information. It features pre-

defined and ad-hoc workflow management that helps an organization to automate their

business process. The entire workflow process is depicted graphically for each case

folder, with the tasks to be performed at each stage, current task name, action officer and

assigned date for the current task.

Responsibilities:

• Participated in requirement and business analysis meetings.

• Developed Test Plans and Test Cases in Quality Center.

• Verified outputs against database using SQL queries.

• Conducted Smoke, Integration, System, GUI, Regression and User-Acceptance (UAT)

permanently remove sensitive information from electronic documents. It eliminates the

tedious manual labor of making copies, tracking documents, and filing. RedactXpress

streamlines compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act,

Health Information Portability and Accessibility Act (HIPPA), and the Openness in

Government Act of 2007.

SECURE REDACTIONS, IRREVERSIBLE BURN-IN

RedactXpress is a state-of-the-art redaction solution that provides irreversible redaction

after burn-in. Unlike solutions that merely hide the information under black bars,

RedactXpress completely and securely removes information by using pixel-to-pixel

replacement and then generating a new redacted document; deleted information can never

be recovered. In addition, RedactXpress has built-in and customizable exemption codes

for FOIA and the Privacy Act which can be auto-inserted into redaction areas.
