2010 - July 24, 2010
Center for Material Research
The modeling of poly 4H-cyclopenta [2, 1-b '3, 4-b'] dithiophen-4-one
. Purpose of research was to explore computationally the effects of
various structure changes on the HOMO and LUMO levels of the original
monomer 4H-cyclopenta [2, 1-b '3, 4-b'] dithiophen-4-one
. The computational experiment was also completed experimentally in a
lab; the computational work matched experimental outcome
. The research was presented in a research symposium.

Rite Aid Pharmacy
. Worked in a fast paced environment to process patron prescription
orders
. Handled various drugs and prescriptions; compounding, stocking
prescriptions, and working with C2 drugs under the close supervision
of the pharmacist
. Learned many customer service skills
. Gained mentorship and pharmacy experience under a pharmacist
Optical Engineering Research Intern (Research 498) September 2009
- December 2009
Center for Material Research
Analysis of Negative Refraction Index
in Photonic Metamaterials
. Purpose of the experiment was to use the refractive index data
collected from the photonic metamaterials sample to ultimately
understand the optical properties of the materials in such a way that
it can be manipulated to enable a variety of exciting applications
such as super lens, hyper lens, and invisibility cloaking.
