terms for building. Established scope of work for remodel for research and
development, engineering and assembly operations to include a clean room
demonstration and prototyping laboratory for advanced products. Oversaw
development of basic logistical development of supply management and also

Project Management (ON Semiconductor); Phoenix, Arizona
1995 to 2011
As a manager implemented basic project management methods into factory
operations. Enabled modeling of projects for financial estimates, process
integration and simplification. Introduced the use of timelines for
planning and resource management. Mentored many project leaders on project
method, problem solving and risk analysis. Twelve significant factory
level projects were implemented on time and within budget. These include
retooling for larger substrate diameter, new device introduction, foundry
qualification and specific equipment installations and qualification.
Important to the success in all these projects was the integration of all
disciplines and skills to ensure project completion. Largest budget
estimated was $37 million dollars; largest budget managed was $12.5 million
dollars.
Technical Management (Motorola); Phoenix, Arizona 1989 to
1995
As a technical manager worked in various disciplines, which included
photolithography, thin films, ion implantation, wafer test and assembly
preparation, leading, mentoring and managing engineers and technicians. In
these roles my focus was to raise the level of expectations of the
technical workforce to ensure that the efficiency of manufacturing was
achieved through sound engineering practices. These included, but were not
limited to Ford 8-D, FMEA, statistical analysis, commonality studies, and
completed documentation for all efforts. As a manager I worked, side by
side and hands on, with engineers participating in problem solving. Those
efforts produced seven patent applications, one U.S. patent, one patent
pending and several technical papers published. As a manager encouraged
the technical group to participate in the intellectual property process to
enable them to compete on the companies technical ladder.
Production Management (Motorola); Phoenix, Arizona 1981 to
1989
As a manager, or supervisor, held a series of positions directing and
leading employees in manufacturing operations. Those included module
management operations where the technical and production functions were
merged, section management which involved multiple shift responsibilities
and as a leader and developer of an autonomous work cell supporting
multiple factories in a foundry operation. In each of these situations
problem solving methods were introduced, innovative thinking encouraged and
leadership techniques stressed.

organizations. Attended schools appropriate to my military occupational
specialties. As a combat arms line officer served in unit and staff level
