Resume:

OBJECTIVE: To apply my technical skills to a Process Engineer with ICS Management Group.

PROFILE

A recent graduate from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering:

• Specialized in Process Engineering studying thermodynamics, fluid/ material mechanics, organic and inorganic chemistry.

• Researched a variety chemical industries ranging from petrochemicals to plastic manufacturing.

• Experienced working in laboratories, pilot plants and factories.

• Obtained a variety of experience working on team design project.

RELEVANT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Process Engineering

- Prepared a process simulation with Aspen HYSYS for a 2-MTHF chemical facility which includes distillation towers, reactors, heat exchangers and pumps. The final product was converted into a process flow diagram (PFD).

- Completed a process simulation for a reactor system which was required to produce 250 million litres of biodiesel a year. The simulation was able to slightly surpass the required production rate.

- Created P&IDs for the 2-MTHF chemical facility mentioned above adding any necessary pumps and controls. The P&IDs consisted of six diagrams which were submitted for review. They were praised for their clarity and equipment layout.

Technical Communication

- Produced a Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) as part of an assessment for a proposed facility. Three specific hazards were analysed using HAZOP, a chart of possible what-if scenarios and a Fault-Hazard-Event tree.

- Completed weekly quality assessment reports during group projects to help improve our team’s overall efficiency. Cut down on time wasted during planning stage and improved quality of writing.

- Organized standard weekly meeting agendas, meeting minutes, presentations and research notes working as a Documentation Manager in a multi-disciplinary group. Saved time spent having to go through older documents.
