Responsibility: Assist with springs and ground water quality and quantity evaluations and assessments. Assist with data projects for reports producing GIS maps, tables and trend plots to support findings. Assist with the State’s Ground Water Protection and Springs Initiative Program involving data management, quality assurance/control analyses, and data manipulation; reviews springs monitoring data for QA/QC issues and completeness, coordinate data corrections with other agencies. Contributes to the data assessments that lead to ground water/springs protection actions. Assist with ground water and springs data requests and retrievals for agency staff and the general public.
Create maps on ArcMap: create a map to display spring stations/well stations, join county or WBID etc to spring/well stations, export spring/well stations as shapefile, clip some spring/well stations in specific county, wbid or basin. Create new layer from selected spring/well stations, export a layout view map, create a geodatabase, export shapefile into Access table. Draw a polygon for spring WBID. Change text label to annonation, manipulate label showing up.
Collect, manage and analysis data: collect ground water and spring data from different agencies, such as SWFWMD, SFWMD, SJRWMD, USGS, FGS, STORET etc., combine the collected data into Access database. By requesting, retrieving specific data from combined Access database, do chart and trend line for these retrieved data in order to know which spring station need to be cleared up.
Take data request job: retrieve spring or well data from OGWIS database or my own-made combined Access database based on the requests from some related agencies, make data trimmed, and send data to the users. Set up an ftp site for the users to get a huge amount of data.
Maintain HYDROPORT program: HYDROPORT is a program for customers to retrieve spring and well data from OGWIS database. Fix the problems reported from the customers. Add/input more functions for this program. Update HYDROPORT by changing the source code and updating HYDROPORT database tables.
QA/Check springs and initiative spring data: retrieve spring initiative data from DEP ADM tool, save them to Excel files, check field data and lab data by comparing field sheets and LIMs system data, report errors to the database administrator, verify corrected data, release provisional data.
