Position Overview: Drive Innovation in Mechanical Systems

We are seeking highly innovative and technically skilled R&D Mechanical Engineers to join our forward-thinking team. In this pivotal role, you will be a primary contributor to the entire product lifecycle—from initial concept and advanced modeling to the design, development, and rigorous testing of cutting-edge mechanical systems and prototypes. This position demands a unique blend of deep technical expertise, exceptional analytical prowess, and an unwavering passion for solving complex, real-world engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities: What You Will Do

Advanced Engineering Application: Apply profound expertise across core engineering disciplines, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, structural analysis, dynamic control systems, and machine design, to inform and execute design decisions.

Modeling and Simulation: Utilize and master advanced engineering tools and software, specifically CAD (e.g., FreeCAD, SolidWorks, Creo), CFD (e.g., ANSYS, Fluent), and Octave/Python/MATLAB/Simulink, to model, analyze, and optimize system performance.

Prototyping and Validation: Drive the development, fabrication, and rigorous testing of functional prototypes, ensuring uncompromising standards for functionality, reliability, safety, and performance under specified conditions.

Documentation and Reporting: Generate highly detailed and accurate technical reports, research papers, and comprehensive design documentation to communicate findings and preserve institutional knowledge.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a technical expert within cross-functional teams (e.g., Electrical, Software, Manufacturing), effectively presenting complex research findings, solutions, and design trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Testing and Data Acquisition: Design, implement, and manage testing processes utilizing state-of-the-art data acquisition systems, sensors, and specialized lab equipment to validate theoretical models and inform design iterations.

Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Maintain current knowledge of advanced manufacturing methods (machining, additive manufacturing, welding, casting, and injection molding) to optimize designs for efficient, scalable, and cost-effective production.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

Technical Foundations: Strong mathematical and conceptual understanding essential for mechanical system modeling, simulation, and predictive analysis.

Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and root-cause problem-solving skills.

Software Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in CAD software and proficiency in at least one advanced simulation or analysis tool (e.g., CFD, FEA, MATLAB).

Communication: Excellent written communication skills for technical writing and documentation; strong verbal and presentation skills for conveying complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.

Manufacturing Knowledge: Practical, real-world knowledge of modern manufacturing technologies and processes.

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. (Consider specifying if a Master's or PhD is preferred for R&D.)

Highly Desired (Advantageous Skills)

Proven experience with rapid prototype development and advanced experimental testing methodologies.

Hands-on experience with test instrumentation, lab technologies (e.g., load cells, high-speed cameras, DAQ systems), and experimental design.

Familiarity with systems engineering and the integration of mechanical components with electrical, software, or control systems (e.g., Mechatronics, Robotics).

Work Locations and Modality

Available Positions in: [List specific geographic locations if applicable]

Modality: Hybrid, Part-Time, Remote (Specify which modalities apply to this specific role if possible, e.g., "This role is available as Hybrid only.")

Why Join Us?

Shape the Future: Be a critical part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team where innovation, intellectual curiosity, and technical excellence are the standard.
