ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Data Engineer to join our Data and AI Practice onsite in Chantilly and/or Herndon, VA. You will be a part of a dynamic, cross-functional team focused on transforming how Government clients extract insights from data to achieve critical mission objectives. This leadership role involves guiding a team and collaborating with others to implement this transformative process. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in the analysis, design, implementation, and optimization of complex, enterprise-wide, cloud-based database solutions that align with mission goals and requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust data pipelines and data storage solutions to integrate data from various systems and networks, ensuring seamless data migration
Collaborate with cloud and system architects to design databases to meet customer needs.
Work with data consumers to develop data requirements to support analytics and machine learning tasks.
Implement data pipelines and data storage solutions to support analytic workflows.
Optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, ensuring low latency and high throughput for real-time and batch data processing.
Provisioning and managing database instances, setting up replication and high availability, and monitoring database performance
Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant data security policies and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles
Experience in database services from cloud services providers such as Oracle
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of engineers
Direct line management experience, including project, people, customer, and financial management
Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and big data technologies
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with data security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST framework)
Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Familiarity with records management policies and procedure
Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
Knowledge of data governance and metadata management
Clearance Requirements:
Must possess a current and active TS/SCI with polygraph
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
