Brief Description
The primary purpose of this position is to support and maintain the IT infrastructure for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). Primary responsibilities include installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure, security systems, and audiovisual equipment. The IT Infrastructure Technician will work closely with internal teams to ensure network reliability, security, and performance. This role also plays a critical part in supporting the BRA Security Division by maintaining and troubleshooting technical security systems, including access control, surveillance cameras, intrusion detection, and emergency communication systems. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that security-related IT systems remain operational, responding to technical issues, and assisting with upgrades and enhancements to BRA's security technology. Additional duties include maintaining accurate documentation, assisting with escalated helpdesk issues, and collaborating on projects that enhance IT infrastructure, and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum three years' experience or equivalent combination of education
Texas Driver's License and good driving record
Ability to acquire an FAA part 107 sUAS certification to operate drones
Any applicable certifications
Associates Degree (in related field) - Completed course requirements to receive an Associates Degree
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Install, test, troubleshoot, and replace network cabling, including Ethernet and fiber optics, while ensuring compliance with network standards (Cat5E, Cat6, Cat6A, MM and SM fiber types).
Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot network equipment, including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and radios.
Install and maintain cable pathway systems, including cable trays, racks, j-hooks, and conduit.
Build out and organize network closets, including the installation of network racks and outdoor enclosures.
Perform fiber optic splicing, fiber and Ethernet termination, and other cabling-related tasks.
Diagnose and resolve network camera issues, including installation and replacement of security cameras and monitoring software.
Troubleshoot and maintain access control systems, intrusion detection, and emergency communication systems to support BRA Security Division operations.
Monitor and maintain surveillance software to ensure continuous functionality and security compliance.
Troubleshoot server-related issues, including replacing hard drives, initiating warranty repairs, and assisting with server installations.
Maintain and update network infrastructure documentation following any modifications.
Install, troubleshoot, and configure audiovisual (AV) equipment.
Collaborate with IT team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
Print and manage identification badges for access control.
Operate and maintain drones and other remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
Assist with escalated helpdesk tickets and support computer deployments.

STARTING SALARY RANGE
$24.79 to $31.61 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.
