Texas Capital Bank is seeking a skilled and dedicated Broadcast Audio Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality audio production for our broadcasts, both live and recorded. This role requires a strong understanding of audio equipment, signal flow, and troubleshooting techniques. The candidate must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, live broadcast environment and collaborate effectively with other team members.
Responsibilities:
Live Broadcast Audio:
Operate and manage audio consoles, microphones, and other audio equipment during live broadcasts.
Mix and balance audio levels for clear and consistent sound.
Monitor audio quality and troubleshoot any issues that arise during live broadcasts.
Coordinate with directors, producers, and other technical staff to ensure seamless audio production.
Manage IFB and communications systems.
Pre-Production and Post-Production Audio:
Set up and test audio equipment before broadcasts or recordings.
Record and edit audio for pre-recorded segments or post-production work.
Maintain and organize audio files and recordings.
Assist in the design and implementation of audio systems.
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform routine maintenance on audio equipment.
Diagnose and resolve audio equipment malfunctions.
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
Stay up-to-date on the latest audio technologies and trends.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other members of the production team, including camera operators, directors, and producers.
Communicate effectively with on-air talent and guests.
Follow established production workflows and procedures.
Adhere to all safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Required:
Proficiency in operating Yamaha DM7 Console or equivalent console.
Strong understanding of audio signal flow, routing, and processing.
Knowledge of microphone techniques and placement.
Ability to troubleshoot audio equipment and resolve technical issues quickly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Preferred:
Formal education in audio engineering or a related field.
Experience with DANTE and other digital audio tools.
Knowledge of broadcast audio standards and practices.
Experience with RF coordination.
Technical Skills:
Audio consoles (digital and analog)
Microphones (dynamic, condenser, wireless)
Audio routing and patching
Signal processing (EQ, compression, reverb)
IFB and RF equipment.
