Location: Kansas City, MO (Onsite Only – Local Candidates Preferred)

About the Role:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Project Document Control Specialist for a 7-month contract-to-hire position supporting document control and project teams on engineering and construction initiatives. This role is 100% onsite at our Kansas City office and offers a potential path to long-term employment for the right candidate.
You’ll work closely with project managers and engineers to organize, track, and distribute critical project documentation, ensuring compliance with standards and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Support document control processes across multiple small and mid-sized projects.
Assist with setting up and input of documentation for project teams.
Maintain standards and procedures for document handling and control.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to manage workflows and documentation accuracy.
Issue document transmittals to clients and vendors.
Process vendor submittals and package project documents for delivery.
Troubleshoot document-related issues and escalate as needed.
Monitor documentation workflows to ensure timely project support.
Compile project data books and maintain document logs.
Perform additional administrative or project-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in engineering, construction, or a related field).
At least 3 years of relevant experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
Strong computer skills and comfort with technology – must be computer savvy and quick to adapt.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
Document control experience is a major plus.
Experience with any of the following platforms is highly desirable:
Hexagon SDx
Aconex
Procore
InEight
Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with change.
Must have stable job history – candidates with inconsistent job tenure will not be considered.
Mortgage industry experience will not be considered.
