Controls Engineer

TITLE: Controls Engineer

Comp: Up to $50/hr

Location: Richmond, IN

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Controls Engineer direct hire position in Richmond, IN

Responsibilities:

Duties:

Develop concepts, detailed designs, and machine control programs for custom automation equipment.

Design systems including synchronous automation, standalone machines, conveyors, and material handling equipment.

Support installation, troubleshooting, and field service for customers.

Modify and enhance existing designs to optimize machine performance.

Create comprehensive machine operation manuals and technical documentation.

Review and revise engineering drawings, including redlines and updates.

Develop and utilize sequences of events and powered element charts.

Participate in debug, testing, and development processes.

Work within defined cost targets, schedules, and ISO quality standards.

Collaborate closely with team members and management to ensure smooth project execution.

Use ERP software (Epicor) for project tracking and documentation.

Drive continuous improvement in processes and designs.

Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications:

Must be able to program PLC's from scratch

Must have previous AutoCAD or Solidworks.

Allen Bradley, Omron, and/or Siemens experience.

Understanding of robotics and how those integrate into machines

Ability to travel, up to 25% for commissioning purposes
