Our team is looking for a Junior Offshore Installation Engineer based out of Houston, TX.
As part of the Project Installation team and reporting to the Lead Installation Engineer, this role will play a crucial role in the installation of flexible and umbilical products. This is a junior role, with a successful candidate playing a role in an international environment, surrounded by passionate professionals in a diverse and rich experience.
About you:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Structural, Civil, Mechanical, etc.)
3 to 5 years' experience in the offshore oil and gas or offshore wind industry
Able to spend periodic times (4-5 weeks) offshore on board installation vessels
Proven experience providing solutions for offshore installation / construction activities
Relevant experience in flexible pipeline, risers, umbilical installation and rigid pipelay (J/S/Reel) is a requirement.
Prior experience managing and leading installation engineering development, drafting priorities to comply with MDR milestones
Proven experience organizing and participating in design reviews to define best installation methodology and solutions
Firm understanding of technical documentation including installation aids, technical memos, and engineering MDRs
About the role:
Provide assistance to functions to implement efficient and effective solutions for installation / construction activities
Organize and participate in design reviews to define the best installation methods
Participate in project meetings, engineering coordination meetings, interface with clients and contractors, technical meeting reviews, HSE meetings and risk assessment meetings
Onshore project preparation, acting as liaison between construction and project engineering teams
Offshore project preparation, providing technical support related to installation and modification of procedures for operations
Special Skills/Knowledge:
Familiar with industry codes and standards applicable to offshore Oil & Gas facilities design, construction and Installation
Knowledgeable in various offshore pipeline and/or SURF installation techniques and understanding installation factors and criteria which might affect the design, costs and schedule for development of offshore oil fields.
Experience on site at shore base facilities, fabrication yards, and offshore vessels as well as site preparation experience is a plus.
Previous experience with S lay installation is required, Deepwater S lay a plus
Working Conditions: Office Environment; Houston, TX plus offshore rotations and site visits on an as required basis during project execution and operation
All candidates must be local to the Houston area and possess valid US work authorization.
