Position Overview:

The Bliss Group is seeking a sharp and dynamic Vice President to join our Healthcare practice. This VP will have the opportunity to serve as the lead strategist and senior oversight of accounts within our Healthcare client portfolio and join the firm’s senior leadership team, helping us chart a path for growth and influence the Bliss culture.

The VP must be adept at finding and telling B2B, B2B2C and B2C health stories and must have a thorough understanding of integrated marketing and communications to provide counsel on media relations, content marketing and reaching buyers at every stage of the marketing funnel. The right candidate will be a strong client relationship manager, leader of teams, and have an eye toward maintaining standards of excellence throughout our work, in partnership with Healthcare practice leaders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Serve as the day-to-day strategic lead for select Healthcare clients managing both strategy and execution

Develop and edit strategic marketing and communications plans and program recommendations

Lead team to develop and edit content (surveys, insights, bylined articles, infographics, internal and external marketing collateral and other materials), serving as “final eyes” and maintaining high standards of excellence in quality of work.

Develop media relations strategies, goals, media targets and pitch angles; pitch the media

Maintain budgets and manage reporting for client and internal purposes

Lead and/or participate in client presentations

Identify and nurture opportunities for organic growth and generate new leads. Steer new business proposals through strategy, exceptional research, and content development

Become immersed in Bliss capabilities and key offerings to identify opportunities for our clients to better achieve their goals

Manage staff performance and coach for success

Serve as a thought leader on client teams and across healthcare, demonstrating industry or media-driven knowledge that adds value to the client and Bliss

Advise on firm direction and suggest ideas to contribute to growth

Qualifications:

8-10+ years of relevant public relations/marketing experience within the healthcare industry. Preferably B2B. Agency experience is a plus.

Experience leading accounts, motivating team members and building strong client relationships, including developing and coaching junior talent

Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills

Able to grasp and explain complex concepts to a variety of audiences

Keen understanding of agency and business operations, including managing budgets, staffing and supervising

Has strong media relations/pitching skills and established relationships

Demonstrated experience and success as a mentor, teacher and supervisor

Thrives in a highly-collaborative, client-service driven environment

Able to shift priorities against changing client and team needs

Positive, professional and flexible attitude that lends itself to quality client service

Delivers and accepts feedback professionally
