Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities. Focused on expanding our footprint within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and food logistics sectors, this role is ideal for a high-performing sales professional with a "hunter" mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to convert leads into long-term strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. New Business Acquisition
Proactively identify and develop new sales opportunities in targeted industries and geographic regions
Build a robust pipeline through cold outreach, referrals, trade shows, and digital prospecting
Craft tailored proposals and value-driven solutions that align with client challenges and objectives
2. Account Growth & Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for newly acquired clients, ensuring a seamless onboarding process
Collaborate with operations to ensure delivery excellence and client satisfaction
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to maximize customer lifetime value
3. Strategic Sales Execution
Develop and execute strategic sales plans in collaboration with leadership
Provide real-time market feedback to influence product development, pricing, and go-to-market strategies
Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas, revenue goals, and other performance KPIs
4. Market & Industry Expertise
Stay up to date on market trends, competitor offerings, and industry best practices
Develop a deep understanding of temperature-controlled packaging and cold chain logistics
Clearly articulate product benefits and differentiators to diverse customer profiles
5. Reporting & Forecasting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records of sales activity and client interactions
Deliver detailed reports and forecasts to leadership on pipeline health, performance metrics, and market intelligence
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred (not required)
Experience:
5–7 years of successful experience in B2B business development or sales within cold chain logistics, packaging, life sciences, or related industries
Prior success selling to pharmaceutical companies, 3PL providers, laboratory clients, or meal kit companies
Skills & Attributes:
Proactive “hunter” mentality with a track record of exceeding sales goals
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office expertise
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-first approach
Travel Requirements:
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% for client meetings, conferences, and industry events
