Major Responsibilities:
Manages and/or provides data sets for several data visualization platforms including the Delaware Report Card and the Delaware Open Data Portal using data tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Microsoft Power BI and developer tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio.
Reports data annually to the public, Delaware General Assembly, the Office of the Governor, and the U.S. Department of Education.
Fulfills ad hoc data requests and those regular data requests established through data sharing agreements (DSAs) and memoranda of understanding (MOUs).
Assists Team Lead with managing assigned educational data domains and provide support to Department and internal data staff.
Continuously improves and expands data reporting options to meet Departmental needs.
Engages with users, and internal staff to ensure implemented solutions satisfy business requirements and are delivered in a timely manner.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of experience with large data sets, preferably using Microsoft SQL Server relational databases and enterprise information systems.
Demonstrated proficiency with analytical software and in creating and modifying structured query language (SQL), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), or other programming languages and tools.
Experience managing multiple projects while ensuring that goals and priorities are met.
Experience with Microsoft Power BI
General knowledge of education related data domains a plus, but not required.

Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements in data specifications.
Good project management skills in public, non profit and/or private sectors track record of delivering results against tight deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly in translating data into easy to interpret, actionable reports, presentations, and findings.
Must be proficient in performing responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Must be skilled in setting priorities, working under pressure, and working in collaboration with others.
Must be able to proactively solve problems with professionalism.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with staff in a tactful, congenial, and personal manner.
Must be experienced in exercising discretion and confidentiality in all professional duties.
