Summary
The Software Developer will focus on developing, enhancing, and supporting
proprietary Strategic Applications for the investment operations team. These
efforts will entail requirements gathering, consensus building, head-down
development, vendor product integration, and transition management. This
role entails the use of vendor APIs, structured programming & task
management, unit & integration testing, as well as reporting.
Embedded within a team of end users, he/she/they will develop and maintain
a proprietary set of tools to support PanAgora’s operational workflows. The
ideal candidate will enjoy working directly with business users to create and
enhance current tools, in a dynamic, fast-paced, best practices investment
environment. The position offers a wide range of exposure to asset
management technology including security reference, asset pricing, complex
securities, collateral management, corporate actions, trade settlement,
portfolio accounting, and vendor reconciliation. The role has significant
growth opportunities within an experienced and mature team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Build, enhance & support strategic proprietary tools, as a primary role;
Facilitate integration testing of 3rd party tools & data, as demand requires;
Provide tactical support of business-oriented services, as a secondary role;
Manage daily morning production process to establish the start-of-day trade-ready state;
Apply a formal development approach to this critical production environment is an underlying tenet.
Essential Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft-based technologies, including strong SQL skills, is required.
Knowledge of, and experience with C# is required.
An undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field, with at least 3 years of Application Development experience is strongly
preferred; relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Experience with Git or other source code control system is required.
Experience with financial services industry a plus.
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies preferred.
Strong business analysis capabilities, and excellent application development & database skills.
Energized by a fast-paced environment, yet able to be methodical & deliberate.
Ability to troubleshoot & problem-solve, and is detail driven.
Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
