HOW YOU WILL DO IT

Key Job Accountabilities:

Business Development - Supports the customer development process in winning new business and is directly responsible for developing repeat business with previous and/or current customers.

Work-sharing Support - Accountable for proactively identifying work packages or opportunities that should be work shared. Works effectively with the Engineering Manager to promote inter-design center project staffing model while balancing individual needs of the project, customer, and employee.

Manages customers' expectations regarding all aspects of the project. This includes setting expectations for the challenges in developing products and test systems. Expectations shall also be managed regarding project scope, schedule, budget, risks, deliverables, and any changes to the original proposal.

Manages projects to successful financial execution with the goal of 100% conversion. Utilizes Plexus business systems to accurately project revenue for both active projects and opportunities

Effectively manages the team resources and leads the program to a successful execution. This includes partnering with the engineering team to identify solutions to meet the customer's needs. It is also important to partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and third party suppliers to ensure Plexus' design are successfully introduced into Plexus Manufacturing Solutions sites. Additional Accountabilities:

Actively supports a Lean Sigma culture through mentoring employees on Lean Sigma concepts, support of and participation in Lean Sigma activities (including RIEs and Report-outs), and application of the tools (including but not limited to A3, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, etc.).

Responsible for managing projects that are limited in scope that typically do not involve multiple disciplines, multiple geographies, or challenging customer dynamics.

Coordinates the activity of the project team in order to execute the project from proposal and contract development through manufacturing transition to assure all expectations of the customer are met.

Responsible for the project P&L, AR, and project sales forecasts including assuring positive and negative variances are appropriately forecasted.

Responsible for creation and ownership of the project proposal, which includes the project plan, schedule, budget, PSA, assumptions, and for presenting and driving the proposal to closure with the customer.

Responsible for managing changes in project scope, schedule, unit cost and the contract, and communicating these changes to the customer in a timely manner.

Responsible for the timely allocation of human resources and equipment required by the project to assure project schedule and financial success.

Responsible for the selection, and ultimate performance, of third party suppliers and sub-contractors required to execute the project plan.

Responsible for managing all prototype builds or fabrication efforts required to execute the project plan.

Serves as the customer's primary point of contact and manages customer expectations in regards to project team performance, deliverables, and schedule to ensure successful project and customer satisfaction.

Provide input on feasibility, cost, schedules, capabilities, resource availability, and contractual obligations for proposal development to ensure competitive estimates to customers.

Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated <25%).

Additional duties as assigned. Education/Experience Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.

Five (5) years of related experience is required.

A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Other Qualifications:

Possesses a general understanding and experience in at least one discipline (e.g. analog, digital, mechanical, software, PCB, test) of electronic product development

Possess a general understanding of the product development and product realization processes

Possess good project management skills and knowledge of management principles

Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment

Possess strong team building and team leadership skills

Possess strong organizational, presentation, and leadership skills

Ability to handle demanding schedules including travel to customer sites

Possess conflict resolution and negotiation skills
