Database Administrator

Requirements

5+ years of experience in open-source database administration and maintenance.

Experienced in database installation and Configuration.

Experience in Managing database schema, disk space, storage, user roles.

Strong knowledge of DBMS Concept.

Good knowledge of relation database, specifically PostgreSQL, PL/SQL.

Proficiency in Database Design, Normalization, writing stored procedures, and User Defined Functions.

Intermediate knowledge in hardware and networking.

Experience managing databases. Proficiency in database administration, management, data imports and exports, and developing reports.

Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to adapt to varied roles and job responsibilities and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to excel both independently and as a team member in a lively, collaborative environment.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities:

Design and document database architecture.

Install and configure database and upgrade it to new versions if required.

Build database schema, tables, procedures and permissions.

Develop database utilities and automated reporting.

Analyse and sustain capacity and performance requirements.

Monitor systems and platforms for availability.

Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover.

Perform maintenance operations daily, weekly and monthly of databases.

Perform database backups and restorations and recovers corrupted databases.

Implement and maintains database security and encryption.

Monitor performance and manage parameters in order to provide fast responses to users/developer to download and process the data.
