About the Organization

The QA Office serves as a pivotal entity within the organization, dedicated to supporting the Internet Service Division (ISBU) and various product development teams.

Our mission is to ensure that applications such as Rakuten LINK, Rakuten Drive, and CPaaS not only meet but exceed our customers' needs and expectations while effectively managing quality risks.

We accomplish this by meticulously executing and monitoring the development cycle and product deliveries, striving for process efficiency through standardization, systematic improvements, and enhanced automation, all while continuously fostering a customer-focused mindset.

Job Duties

This position focuses on LINK, a suite of mobile and desktop applications for Communication and Ecosystem services for Rakuten Mobile.

We will place particular importance on Mobile application and API experiences.

Engage in every phase of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, test and scope planning, documentation of test cases, test execution, and results reporting.

Develop detailed test cases based on requirements and maintain existing test cases.

Formulate test strategies and design test plans to ensure functional requirements are met.

Work in collaboration with QAs and technical leads to ensure alignment on test automation processes and protocols.

Support the execution of automated tests (note: scripting knowledge is not a prerequisite).

Cooperate with QA, development, and product team members to guarantee testable requirements, identify discrepancies between design and engineering, clarify and quantify expected outcomes, and establish a robust QA approach.

Contribute to the investigation of issues, provide detailed analysis of functionality specifications, and offer recommendations for enhancing the customer journey.

Stay abreast of the latest industry tools and development strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Analyst, Software Tester, or Quality Engineer.

A solid understanding of QA processes, QA metrics, agile methodologies, and the SDLC.

A good grasp of mobile application design and development concepts, including the distinctions between Android and iOS platforms.

Strong communication and collaboration skills in English.

Experience with test management tools (e.g., Test Rail) and project collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, Slack).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in performance testing.

Experience in mobile automation using Appium on Android and iOS platforms.

Knowledge of API automation frameworks (JAVA or Kotlin, Karate or similar framework, SOAPUI/Rest Assured).

Knowledge of JavaScript, Python, Java, or Kotlin programming languages.

Understanding of pipeline creation, CI/CD processes, and tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.

Understanding of Scrum and project management concepts.
