Job Summary:

Chargebee is looking for an experienced Chartered Accountant for the role of Assistant Manager - Revenue. The Assistant Manager - Revenue is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with US GAAP and company policies. The role is critical in supporting the company’s financial reporting, compliance and forecasting efforts.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Computation and accounting of Subscription and related revenue in accordance with US GAAP including performing the required checks and reconciliations

Review and reconcile Customer Contract data for completeness and accuracy on a periodic basis

Ensure accounts receivable balances are recorded and reconciled on a periodic basis to the billing systems

Prepare and maintain schedules, reconciliations and reports for revenue and deferred revenue on a periodic basis

Assist in the design and implementation of internal controls to ensure the accuracy and completeness of revenue data

Stay informed of changes to GAAP related to revenue recognition and assess the impact on the company's revenue.

Support in org-wide projects like ERP transformations, systems integrations and automation / efficiency initiatives.

Assist in performing the required tasks related to Audit coordination including preparing and providing with the auditors with the required supporting documentation

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and financial planning & analysis, to ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies, effective management reporting and proper documentation

Prepare and Present findings and insights to the senior management as part of period close meetings.

Skills and Experience:

Must Haves:

Chartered Accountant with 3 to 4 years of post qualification Accounting or Audit experience

Strong understanding of US GAAP / IFRS, particularly in the area of revenue recognition

Advanced MS Office skills, in particular, with MS Excel

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records

Nice to haves:

Experience in revenue accounting in SAAS or subscription based companies

Experience in automating systems, workflows and processes

Familiarity with Netsuite ERP system

Success Metrics:

Revenue Recognition Compliance: Revenue recognition is a complex area of accounting that is particularly important for subscription-based businesses. As a revenue accountant, you can ensure that the company is following the appropriate revenue recognition policies and procedures to comply with ASC 606.

Timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting: As a revenue accountant, you play a crucial role in ensuring that the company's financial statements are accurate and timely. You can measure your success in this area by tracking the number of errors and omissions in financial reports and ensuring that all deadlines are met in terms of reporting, period close etc.chru
