Dispatcher / Driver Manager

Job Description

Our company is looking for someone that has excellent communication skills, is detail

oriented and able to multitask in a heavy traffic environment daily. They will work

directly with both drivers and customers in planning and coordinating shipments from

pickup to delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and

transportation, excellent communication skills, and a proficiency in computer software

used for dispatching.

Responsibilities and Duties

Working with our OTR Owner Operator fleet and a dedicated set of drivers to

ensure they’re meeting KPI’s and service standards.

Communicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times,

and special handling requests.

Planning pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed.

Preparing dispatch documents, as well as generating freight bills and invoices

within our TMS.

Familiarity with DAT and other load boards for backhauls.

Maintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as

delivery and pickup times.

Logging customer shipping schedules and complaints.

Resolve and communicate in a satisfactory and timely manner any customer

concerns or issues

Monitor driver performance and provide feedback as needed

Collaborate with other dispatchers and departments to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)

2-3 years of experience in transportation specifically with an OTR fleet or

customer service is preferred

Exceptional ability to schedule drivers, plan routes, and dispatch drivers to

customer locations.

Excellent experience in customer service, as well as generating freight bills and

invoices.

Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to work well in an office setting, managing multiple tasks, and being a

team player.

Have great communication and negotiation skills.

Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws.

Ability to be trained. Even if you don’t have experience, we will teach you!

Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
