EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Web Developer will specialize in PHP and WordPress, with a strong emphasis on security. This is an excellent opportunity to play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and securing a complex marketing website. This position will ensure the site's performance, security, and scalability, utilizing managed hosting solutions like WP Engine and Pagely, and implementing best-in-class security practices including OWASP standards.

GENERAL RESPONSIBLITIES

Develop and maintain our marketing website using PHP and WordPress, ensuring adherence to high-quality coding and security standards.

Create custom WordPress themes and plugins with a focus on security and efficiency.

Manage and optimize website architecture focusing on advanced security protocols and scalable solutions.

Ensure optimal website performance and security by leveraging managed WordPress hosting platforms such as WP Engine and Pagely.

Implement comprehensive security measures in line with OWASP guidelines to safeguard the website against threats and vulnerabilities.

Collaborate with IT security specialists to conduct regular security audits and updates to the website’s security framework.

Work with marketing, design, and content teams to ensure website aligns with corporate branding while maintaining stringent security measures.

Troubleshoot security and site performance issues, providing rapid responses to mitigate risks.

PROFICIENCIES

Experience with custom WordPress theme and plugin development, with a focus on secure coding practices.

Familiarity with managed WordPress hosting environments like WP Engine and Pagely, with a focus on their security features.

Knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS) with an understanding of their security implications.

Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, with a keen attention to detail and security.

Independent work style capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 5 years equivalent experience.

Proven experience as a Web Developer with strong expertise in PHP, WordPress, and web security.

Solid understanding of OWASP security principles and experience applying these to web applications.

Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and project transparency.
