Compensation:

$74,520 - $89,424

Work Schedule:

8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday (Onsite)

General Summary:

Under the direction of the manager, Online Digital Communications, design, develop and update web pages for the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) websites, and assist in managing the email marketing and communications. Assist in the development and maintenance of front-end web-based applications as needed.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, implement and maintain organization websites. Code sites using semantically correct code and use progressive enhancement methodology to provide similar browsing experience to all supported web browsers. Provide an enhanced experience for visitor using newer browsers on both desktop and mobile devices.

Manage seasonal and yearly content updates to the organization’s sites and troubleshoot any resulting website issues. Assist with ongoing content updates as needed.

Manage the marketing and education email programs for designated departments. Create and update messaging and work with the client and editorial team to ensure messaging meets the clients’ needs and deadlines. Assist with system news-related emails as needed.

Design, develop, test, implement and maintain organizational HTML email templates based on industry best practices and work in all major email clients. Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes/enhancements/redesigns for emails based on the organization’s current communication requirements and industry standards.

Summary of Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in web design, digital design or communications required.

Two to three years of experience working in web design required. Experience developing HTML emails preferred.

Proficient in HTML/HTML5 and CSS/CSS3 multiple web languages required. Knowledgeable in JavaScript/JQuery, AJAX, web data access, storage and display via CSV and XML desired.

Creative problem solver proficient in coding/implementing responsive web design and typography as well as progressive enhancements.

Proficient in Adobe Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat required and knowledge of Google site products including but not limited to Google Analytics Google Site Search and Google Webmaster Tools.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment while meeting deadlines with minimal direct supervision required.
