This position of Biospecimen and Imaging is an independent contributor who will collaborate closely with the Global Biospecimen & Imaging Management (GBSIM) team. This team is responsible for assisting and carrying out biospecimen and imaging tasks at the protocol level. A key aspect of this role is the ability to offer creative solutions for data integration, data analysis, database management, and specimen tracking. The individual in this position will play a crucial role in supporting biospecimen management teams and identifying opportunities to enhance work processes across different functions within the organization, specifically in relation to biospecimens.

Position Responsibilities

Track clinical trial-collected biospecimens and related logistics, issues, and queries from collection/first receipt to final disposition.

Support the biospecimen team in reconciliation activities within the biospecimen inventory tracking IT system (LabMatrix).

Contribute to the build, integration of specimen mapping and translation to support vendor inventory upload to BMS biospecimen tracking system.

Support routine vendor management responsibilities. Able to request and/or access vendor/system inventory files to perform specimen tracking.

Able to create biospecimen tracker using various tracking tools (MS Excel, Spotfire, Tableau, or LabMatrix (if applicable)) with support.

Database Management and SQL: Maintain and optimize databases using SQL. Retrieve, transform, and load data from various sources. Ensure data consistency and integrity.

Data Integration: Collaborate with internal IT teams to integrate data from different systems. Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Ensure seamless data flow across platforms.

Dashboard Creation: Design and build interactive dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel. Visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Present data-driven insights to stakeholders.

Propose and implement solutions to enhance existing data processes.

Degree Requirements

Scientific degree (Bachelors, Masters, or higher), IT, Project management or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 2-4 years of academic, biotech, healthcare, or pharmaceutical industry experience or equivalent.

Requires demonstrated proficiency with data integration processes, applications, and tools.

Requires demonstrated proficiency with system-to-system data mapping and integration design.

Experience desired, but not limited to, basic understanding of clinical trials (Phase I-IV), biospecimen life cycle/operations, compliance, and vendor management.

Key Competency Requirements

Demonstrated clinical trial experience, healthcare/medical/laboratory or equivalent.

Advanced Excel Skills:

Proficiency in complex Excel functions (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH).

Ability to handle large datasets efficiently.

SQL Proficiency:

Experience writing SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.

Knowledge of relational databases and data normalization.

Data Visualization:

Ability to create compelling visualizations and dashboards.

Familiarity with tools like SpotFire, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

Attention to Detail:

Thoroughness in data validation and quality assurance.

Ability to spot anomalies and inconsistencies. Demonstrates change Agility through a willingness to pivot current ways to working to new model(s)
