What you will do

As a Lead Production Engineer, you will function as an important part of the Manufacturing department at Silent-Aire. You will collaborate in a disciplined manner across the multiple stakeholders and departments in executing all aspects of a variety of challenging and innovative projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing technical design support to senior supervisors within the production and manufacturing department.

Taking a leading role in project execution.

Coaching, mentoring and leading project teams, including Engineers in Training to success in a wide variety of projects.

Communicating and interacting with all internal clients.

Providing day-to-day technical and engineering support to the operating areas.

Assisting in planning, design, installation, and maintenance of machinery and equipment in the operating areas.

Technical support and troubleshooting of production issues related to equipment, processes, quality, controls, and systems.

Developing and facilitating training for operations group such as with operating procedures, new/revised processes, and equipment.

Assisting with the development of new and innovative product lines and refinement of existing products.

Interacting with production; perform periodic inspections of units under construction.

Participating in continuous product improvement.

Being involved in many aspects of the business including support for estimating, business development and production improvements.

What we look for

Mechanical engineering degree (BSc. Eng., B.Eng.).

At least 10 years related in production or similar industries experience.

Experience in HVAC design will be beneficial, including knowledge in equipment and system selection, design and control. Additional experience in metal fabrication and/or manufacturing is an asset.

Dedication to continuous improvement and sound prioritization skills.

Demonstrated leadership skills, Six Sigma training encouraged.

Proficient with drafting in AutoDesk products (Auto Cad and Inventor); demonstrated knowledge in proper drafting standards and practices.

Exudes confidence and tact in interacting with clients and colleagues.

Has the ability to interact positively with outward facing clients.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial.

Strong organizational skills.

Self-starting, ability to manage multiple tasks on strict deadlines.

Commitment to continuous technical learning and personal development, both self-directed and under the guidance of others.

Diligent, with an eye for detail.

Ability to perform under occasional stressful situations on tight deadlines.

Ability to direct the work of others in the team.

Ability to integrate new technologies into machines.

Ability to converse and collaborate with clients, vendors, and multiple departments spanning multiple disciplines.

Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Proven track record in managing large projects including project budgets.

Practical experience with risk management, product design and testing, estimating, and project management.
