Position Description: F5 Subject Matter Expert

Location: Fairfax, VA

At ZTI Solutions, we are seeking an experienced F5 Subject Matter Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of F5 technologies and solutions, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing F5-based infrastructure. The F5 Subject Matter Expert will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our network infrastructure.

Primary Position Requirements include:

Design, implement, and manage F5 BIG-IP solutions to support high availability, load balancing, and security requirements.

Provide expertise in configuring and troubleshooting F5 products, including LTM, GTM, ASM, and APM modules.

Collaborate with network engineers, security analysts, and other stakeholders to design and implement F5-based solutions that meet business requirements.

Perform regular health checks and performance tuning of F5 infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.

Monitor F5 devices for security vulnerabilities and apply appropriate patches and updates.

Develop and maintain documentation, including configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and best practices for F5 technologies.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on F5 technologies and best practices.

Requirements:

Active Secret Clearance.

U.S. Citizen.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing F5 BIG-IP solutions.

In-depth knowledge of F5 technologies, including BIG-IP LTM, GTM, ASM, and APM.

Experience with scripting and automation using languages such as TCL, Python, or JavaScript.

Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, and HTTP/HTTPS.

Experience with network security principles and best practices.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA) or F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS) certification.

Experience with F5 iRules and iControl REST API.

Experience working in a highly regulated industry, such as finance or healthcare.

Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and technologies, such as AWS or Azure.

Experience with container networking and orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as Ansible or Terraform.
