About Data Engineering at Cardinal Health

The Data & Analytics Function plays a vital role in managing the analytics life-cycle, enabling the organization to derive insights that inform business decisions and uncover new opportunities for competitive advantage. This function oversees analytic data platforms, implements reporting and business intelligence solutions, and applies advanced quantitative modeling.

Data Engineering is essential in transforming raw data into accessible and usable formats for the organization. It encompasses various specialties in data acquisition, integration, and provisioning.

We are looking for a highly talented Senior Data Engineer to spearhead data transformation projects aligned with our enterprise data strategy. In this role, you will be the technical leader and subject matter expert guiding the implementation of enterprise data platforms across multiple business segments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the technical implementation of data modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture and strategy.

Collaborate with both business and technology stakeholders to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions.

Provide guidance and mentorship to application and project teams on data engineering and analytics best practices.

Champion the adoption of Lakehouse architecture to seamlessly integrate structured and unstructured data sources.

Work closely with data governance, security, and infrastructure teams to guarantee compliance and operational excellence.

Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.

Qualifications

8-12 years of experience in Data and Analytics is preferred.

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Proven expertise in implementing and scaling Data Lakehouse Platforms within complex enterprise environments.

In-depth knowledge of data engineering, analytics, and associated technologies.

Strong understanding of cloud platforms (such as Azure, AWS, or GCP) and data architecture principles.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities in leading cross-functional teams and delivering large-scale enterprise data solutions.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate with all organizational levels.

Experience within a matrixed environment, supporting multiple business units and projects.

Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps for data, and data governance frameworks is preferred.

Knowledge of enterprise data strategy and data product thinking is preferred.

Mentor less experienced colleagues for professional development.

Anticipated Salary Range: $123,400 - $176,300
