Description:

Exciting new opportunities to help transform

At the Bank we recognise people who want to be part of a team, to be recognised for what they do, and how they help the Australian people. We aren't all about interest rates and the economic policies. We also run complex critical systems that provide disaster relief payments, print bank notes, and ensure that all the other banks can work together to allow us to live our lives. These systems rely on Technology and after winning awards for our New Payments Platform and establishing near real time settlements, we are now taking the next steps in our technology journey. This role is a fixed term contract until February 2026.

About the team

At the RBA, Platform/DevOps Engineering is key to automating the way in which we deploy, manage, govern, and destroy our systems as they move through their lifecycle. Working with other teams, Platform Engineering has established a set of platforms to deliver on a number of large programs of work as well as break in to new areas of technology in the cloud and containerisation.

Platform/DevOps Engineering is made up of small teams of 6 or 7 engineers who work on a project or an area of BAU. Our team members receive training to grow in the areas they are less knowledgeable in, as well as opportunities to move between teams to get more diverse experience and broaden their skills. Each team has a lead who answers to the Manager of Platform Engineering.
