We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Permanent Chief Estimator to join our team in the Construction industry. This is a high-impact role that will require you to lead and manage the estimating process for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in estimating, a keen eye for details, and a knack for identifying cost-effective solutions that will meet our clients' needs without compromising on quality. This role demands a high level of responsibility and accountability, and the candidate must be able to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the estimating team in the preparation of budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for construction projects.

2. Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevant project documents to identify key risk areas and ensure accurate estimates.

3. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure comprehensive bid coverage.

4. Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain the most competitive prices.

5. Oversee the preparation of preliminary and final bid proposals, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.

6. Participate in client and construction meetings and present estimates and budgets.

7. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects throughout the construction process to ensure cost efficiency and quality.

8. Continually review and update cost estimating tools and methodologies to maintain accuracy and competitiveness.

9. Monitor and analyze market trends, construction costs, and competitor strategies to provide accurate and timely estimates.

10. Provide mentoring and guidance to junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.

3. Proficient with take-offs and estimating software.

4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.

5. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to create accurate estimates and budgets.

6. Exceptional negotiation skills, with the ability to secure the best prices from subcontractors and suppliers.

7. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior estimators.

8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.

9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on accuracy or quality.

10. Professional certification in estimating or a related field would be an asset.
